SpotSwitcher Terms of Use

These terms apply to the SpotSwitcher product pages and public script published by vanRoojen LLC. By using SpotSwitcher, you are responsible for reviewing the generated plan, understanding the Azure resources it will affect, and deciding whether to execute it in your environment.

Free script, no hosted account

SpotSwitcher is provided as a public script. It does not create a hosted vanRoojen account or a vanRoojen-operated control plane for your Azure resources.

License

The public SpotSwitcher source repository is published under the MIT License unless a later repository version states otherwise. These terms cover the product site and operating expectations around use of the script; the source license covers copying and modifying the code.

Your Azure responsibilities

  • You are responsible for Azure permissions, policy compliance, backups, snapshots, and change approvals.
  • You are responsible for Azure costs created by VM recreation, snapshots, disks, IP addresses, and related resources.
  • You are responsible for confirming that Spot capacity, quota, VM size, region, zone, marketplace plan, licensing, and availability requirements fit your workload.
  • You should test in a non-production environment before using the script for important workloads.

No guarantee of Spot capacity

Azure Spot availability is controlled by Microsoft Azure capacity and pricing. SpotSwitcher can help choose eligible options when Azure makes the relevant quota data visible, but it cannot guarantee capacity, prevent eviction, reserve quota, or override Azure policy.

No warranty

SpotSwitcher is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, vanRoojen LLC is not liable for lost data, downtime, lost revenue, Azure charges, quota issues, failed deployments, or other damages arising from use of the script or product site.

Changes

vanRoojen LLC may update the script, pages, and these terms over time. The latest public script is the version published in the GitHub repository unless otherwise stated.
